Lab facilities

The Teesalu Laboratory occupies over 200 m² of laboratory space and 100 m² of office space at the Center for Translational Medicine, University of Tartu. The facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure for molecular and cellular biology, bacteriology, and advanced imaging.

Our specialized equipment includes an Olympus multiphoton/confocal imaging system, access to advanced imaging resources such as a 9.4T Bruker MRI system, and near-infrared and luciferase imaging systems for small animals.

The laboratory routinely employs a panel of orthotopic cell line-based and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models of glioma, peritoneal carcinomatosis, prostate carcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer.

The lab is directly connected to the 5,000 m² University of Tartu animal facility, which includes ABSL laboratories, facilities for transgenic animal production, GLP-standard laboratories, and specialized units for animal and toxicity studies.

Researchers also benefit from the University’s core facilities, including confocal and imaging suites, FACS analysis and sorting, proteomics, genomics, and single-cell transcriptomics cores.
